About Hair Loss

Bioscor's products are formulated to fight hair loss and naturally regrow your own hair using effective and clinically-proven ingredients. Our products are specifically aimed at treating Androgenetic Alopecia, also known as male/female pattern baldness.

Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA)
This is the most common type of hair loss and is caused by a hormone produced in our bodies known as Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a potent by-product of testosterone when converted by the enzyme 5-alpha Reductase (5AR). 

DHT attacks susceptible hair follicles causing the follicle to shrink (miniaturisation). Affected follicles become progressively smaller resulting in thick terminal hairs becoming thin vellus hairs. The anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle is also shortened, resulting in increased hair shedding. Eventually the follicle becomes dormant and fails to produce hair.

Those who have inherited the gene responsible for pattern hair loss have an increased sensitivity to DHT, despite even normal levels or slightly elevated levels of DHT.
